our journey
october 2010 — meet
Even though we had both grown up in the Blue Mountains, we only met at a mutual friend's birthday party at the lovely Jackson's on George. From there it was a blooming romance, with Jane spending every weekend with Cam in Sydney and travelling home to work and attend university.


october 2011 — graduation
Jane graduated from WSU with a Bachelor of Nursing. Cam graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Commerce.
december 2011 — first overseas holiday
We traveled to South East Asia for our first overseas holiday. We swam with tropical fish, ate amazing food and got belly aches. Our first big trip brought us much closer together - living in tight confinements for an extended period.


january 2012 — new york, washington, aspen & san francisco
Cam joins Jane on his first holiday with the family (and group). We travelled to New York seeing broadway shows, eating and site seeing. Jane discovers Cam is allergic to the cold while visiting Washington.


january 2012 — jane teaches cam to ski
Jane decided to share her favourite sport with Cam - skiing. Unfortunately, as it would turn out, Cam was not a very good skiier.


february 2012 — work
Jane starts a fulltime job as a registered nurse at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Kings Cross. She makes best friends with nurses and doctors. Cam starts working in digital marketing.


march 2013 — sparro
Cam leaves works to start Sparro with his brother Morris.
october 2013 — philippines
We embark on another Asian holiday to the Philippines. We do daily dives on wrecks and coral reefs and eat plenty of lobsters for dinner.


june 2014 — darwin
Our first holiday to Darwin. Each day we swim in a different waterfall, see crocodiles and try to catch a barramundi.


june 2014 — jane moves in
Jane moves in with Cam and Morris in Erskineville
may 2015 — europe
We take off on a 5 week trip in Europe. Visiting Holland, France and Italy. Eat pizza, drink lots of wine and have the trip of a lifetime.


july 2015 — jane diagnosed with breast cancer
Our lives are turned upside down when Jane is diagnosed with breast cancer. We go from living a carefree life to appointments, meetings and thousands of tests. It is decided that Jane will go through aggressive treatment starting in August. Cam organises a trip for Jane to Melbourne to see the Lion King stage show.


september 2015 — jane loses her hair
One of the visual side effects from cancer treatment is hairloss. Jane loses her hair on September 13th, Cam's birthday. She looks as great as ever, but feels less herself.


christmas 2015 — treatment continues
We spend long days in the hospital receiving treatment. Jane has a full day treatment on Christmas Eve. Cam takes time off work to attend each chemo session with Jane.


february 2016 — small trips
Jane is continuing treatment, so we go on short trips around the country. From Puppies in Kurrajong to the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.


july 2016 — jane finishes treatment
12 months after being diagnosed, Jane finishes her cancer treatment with a positive outcome. We are both relieved it's over and excited to get on with our lives.


october 2016 — cam asks jane to marry him
Cam asked Jane to marry him on the 28th of October whilst walking Sculptures by the Sea, looking over their favourite beach, Tamarama.


january 2017 — america 2.0
Jane was asked by the Young Garvan Foundation to give a speech with her story. Jane's speech was so inspiring and heartfelt, that a lady decided to give us 2 business class flights to the USA. We decided to go New York, New Orleans and Texas.


january 2017 — back to japan for skiing
No, Cam has not got better yet.


march 2017 — engagement party
Unfortunately, 5 days out from the engagement party, we had a setback. We spent the day in hospital - but it didn't stop us celebrating with a huge cheese and meat platter.


june 2017 — our wedding
You made it! Well done. As you can see, we have had quite a journey. Please join us to celebrate the wedding of the century.

On the 20th March 2017 - Jane had a seizure at work. They found a brain tumour and immediately cut it out. Her breast cancer had spread. Jane is now on a regime of 14 tablets a day, which keep her being the amazing, smiling person she is. Our lives have changed and we don't need things - we need experiences.
